WEDNESDAY - USDINR & EURO HITS 4 MONTH HIGH !!

On Wednesday , Indian domestic currency (Rupee) start with firm note as greenback on the defensive, particularly against other growth-leveraged currencies such as the Australian dollar, following an uptick in U.S. inflation and news of progress in vaccine development.

  • On Yesterday (Tuesday) , USDINR was trading in one way rally after gap up opening, Day trading range was 75.2875 - 75.53 levels , before ended at 75.43/75.44 levels.

  • Chinese companies such as TikTok-owner ByteDance have been asked by India to answer 77 questions about their apps that have been banned by New Delhi, including whether they censored content, worked on behalf of foreign governments or lobbied influencers.

  • Bharti Airtel Ltd is partnering with Verizon Communications Inc's BlueJeans to launch a business-focused video conferencing tool, the Indian wireless carrier said on Tuesday.

  • Flipkart will raise $1.2 billion in funding led by majority owner Walmart Inc, the Indian e-commerce firm said on Tuesday, as it looks to compete better with Amazon.com Inc in a coronavirus-hit market.

GLOBAL HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Euro rose to a four-month high against the dollar on Wednesday on hopes European Union leaders may agree on stimulus and deepening fiscal integration to shield the economy from the pandemic. The EURUSD rose to as high as $1.1423, its highest level since March 10 and not far off its peak so far this year of $1.1495.

  • The Dollar extended losses on Tuesday after U.S. consumer prices rebounded 0.6% month-on-month, the most in nearly eight years, in June, easing worries about deflationary pressures from the economic downturn.

  • The President Donald Trump on Tuesday ordered an end to Hong Kong's special status under U.S. law to punish China for what he called "oppressive actions" against the former British colony.

  • Moderna Inc's experimental vaccine for COVID-19 showed it was safe and provoked immune responses in all 45 healthy volunteers in an ongoing early-stage study, U.S. researchers reported on Tuesday.

  • The New York Times will shift part of its Hong Kong office to Seoul, in an ominous move as worries grow that the new national security law China imposed on the financial hub two weeks ago would curb media and other freedoms in the city.
