On Monday , USDINR likely to start with weaker note as dollar maintain weak momentum under pressure from all corners as intensifying China-USA tensions added to worries that the coronavirus resurgence in United States could undermine the recovery in the world's biggest economy. On Friday , USDINR was getting resistance near 74.99 levels , intraday trading range was 74.8075 - 74.9875 before ended at 74.82/83 levels.

  • India needs to be "extra vigilant" as the novel coronavirus threat persists, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a public address on Sunday, even as the country registered a record number of patient recoveries in a day.

  • An Indian court has summoned Alibaba and its founder Jack Ma in a case in which a former employee in India says he was wrongfully fired after objecting to what he saw as censorship and fake news on company apps, documents seen by Reuters showed.

  • Police in the Chinese city of Chengdu restricted access to the area around the U.S. consulate on Monday morning, when the United States was believed to be due to exit the premises in retaliation for China being ousted from its Houston consulate.

    1. Last week Washington ordered China's consulate in Houston to close, prompting Beijing to react in kind by closing the U.S. consulate in Chengdu.

    2. U.S. President (Donald) Trump used to say China's President Xi Jinping is a great leader. But now Pompeo's wording is becoming so aggressive that markets are starting to worry about further escalation.

  • Gold futures traded at a record as the dollar plunged and concerns about the global economy boosted demand for havens, while the most-active contract rolled to a month that had already topped the all-time high.
